LYMBYC SYSTYM
Lymbyc Systym’s cinematic sonic landscapes are generated by brothers Jared and Michael Bell, who had previously been members of various bands in Tempe, AZ. Jared and Michael had been collaborating since their preteens, messing around with toy guitars and drum sets. They finally joined forces in 2001 for Lymbyc Systym, which balances acoustic instruments and programming. The two have since relocated to Brooklyn NY and have earned opening slots for such bands as the Album Leaf, Crystal Castles, Broken Social Scene, Junior Boys, Blonde Redhead and Mice Parade, among others. An EP, Carved by Glaciers (2005, Magic Bullet), was followed by Love Your Abuser (2007, Mush/), a split EP w/ label mates This Will Destroy You (2008, Magic Bullet) and a second full length Shutter Release (2009, Mush/).

LITE
Formed in 2003, Tokyo-based instrumentalists LITE’s music combines math-rock power and precision with emotionally charged compositions. The band – Nobuyuki Takeda (guitar), Kozo Kusumoto (guitar), Jun Izawa (bass), Akinori Yamamoto (drums) – have risen to prominence over the course of a handful of releases on both Japanese and UK labels and on the strength of their incendiary live show. With extensive tours in Europe and Japan since 2005, including famed Fuji Rock Festival in 2007 (and most recently, invited back again for Fuji Rock Festival 2010), the band have honed their songwriting powers, and allied to their jaw-dropping instrumental prowess and mastery of the studio, to result in a sound running the gamut from Crimson-esque jazz-rock to full-scale guitar assault. LITE is certainly set to cement its reputation as one of the most exciting bands to have emerged from Japan in recent years.
