KittyWu Records and Incursive Productions are proud to present Chicago’s critically acclaimed three-piece, Russian Circles, in a one-night-only concert at TAB (Singapore) on Saturday, 13 October 2012. The performance is part of an extensive Australasian tour which includes New Zealand, Australia, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Malaysia. The tour supports their fourth release, Empros, that picks up where the anthemic riffs and melodies of 2009’s Geneva left off.

“A balancing act on a cosmic scale… Every note on Empros is its right place, every surface scraped-up just so,” – Pitchfork, 2011

It’s a consistently gradual progression which defines Empros; contrasts in tone and texture are always smooth and never abrasive, despite their often overtly aggressive nature. Indeed, Russian Circles have become masters of the art of the chameleon-riff, one that shifts to match its surroundings but without ever losing its own sense of individuality and purpose.” – Drowned In Sound, 2011

Tickets for the Singapore show are available from 11 September 2012. Limited early-bird tickets are priced at SGD55, and SGD65 thereafter online and SGD70 at the venue on show day.

Russian Circles
There are instrumental rock bands, and then there is Russian Circles. This Chicago-based trio has raised the bar incredibly high with the release of their first full-length Enter. The band charges out of the gate on this debut with a potent forcefulness that leaves many of their more seasoned, contemplative, and mathy peers sounding a bit hesitant and flaccid in comparison. This strength of spirit has quickly earned Russian Circles considerable recognition as a formidable live band, to such an extent that they are being requested as openers by high-profile acts such as Tool.  Similar to fellow Chicago residents Pelican, Russian Circles play epic, sprawling music which runs the gamut of heavy discordant metal to soft delicate passages. They are also known for their energetic live shows, which include tours with Tool, Red Sparowes, Minus the Bear and Boris, as well as appearances at the 2006, 2007 & 2008 SXSW festivals. Empros is Russian Circles’ first full-length to be released worldwide exclusively via Sargent House, the band’s longtime management company and record label that had previously released only the vinyl editions of its three prior albums.
